SCHEIDT in the focus of the BAUZ newspaper

Scheidt GmbH & Co. KG is pleased about the detailed report in the current issue of BAUZ.

In its current issue 44, the employee magazine of the German Social Accident Insurance Institution for the raw materials and chemical industry focuses on "Safe cranes" and provides information about the Rinteln-based manufacturer of concrete transformer stations and its innovative safety measures.

Motivation and knowledge

Back in March, the editorial team from BAUZ visited our plant in Rinteln to conduct an interview and a photo shoot during ongoing operations. The BAUZ newspaper, known for its striking layout and unique approach, conveys motivation and knowledge on the most important prevention topics. The report clearly illustrates how we use precise crane technology to ensure safety and efficiency in our production.

The newspaper devotes an entire page to Scheidt and the topic of "Moving heavy weights safely". It emphasises that cranes are the most important work equipment at Scheidt, but also represent the greatest potential danger. Our plant manager Ingo Klausing and two employees from the loading department were interviewed intensively and accompanied in their work.

The report also highlights our new, modern production hall that we have built at the Rinteln site. On 4000 square metres, we work with modern 40t heavy-duty cranes and additional wall-mounted overhead travelling cranes to handle our heavy components safely and efficiently.

Focus on safety measures and training

Operations Manager Ingo Klausing emphasises the importance of safety when handling large and heavy components. "The main hazards lie in handling cranes. That's why we subject our hoists and cranes to regular inspections and analyse dangerous handling operations at our depot in order to minimise risks. Personal protective equipment and regular training for our employees are also crucial."

Modern crane systems for efficient working

The new production hall is equipped with state-of-the-art crane systems that are specially designed for the transport and assembly of heavy components. "We have two overhead cranes in each bay with capacities of twice 40 tonnes and twice 32 tonnes. There are also numerous smaller wall-mounted travelling cranes available for assembly work, which reduce waiting times and enable efficient working methods," explains Klausing.

Innovative technology for greater convenience and safety

The new crane systems offer improved technology and increase working comfort. Particularly noteworthy is the option of tandem travel, which allows large loads to be moved safely and precisely. Klausing emphasises: "Switching off the cranes and gentle braking improve safety and protect the lifting gear. Our top priority is to avoid errors and protect human life."
