Site expansion creates space for new machines and new perspectives.
There's a lot going on at the Hoyerswerda plant: while there was previously a lack of machines and space to manufacture reinforcement cages ourselves, a lot is now happening in the hall to create perfect conditions for in-house reinforcement construction. With the start of preliminary planning in May 2022, it was already clear that this project would be a real challenge in every respect. "By the end of April 2023, we will have received all the machines for the conversion to produce our own SCHEIDT reinforcement cages. However, the new Progress bending machine is the first of the three machines to be delivered and was commissioned in January of this year. We are now looking forward to the delivery of the new mesh bending machine and the new mesh cutting machine from Hambi."
Investments aligned with the positive business development.
The investment sum of 252,000 euros for the conversion alone shows that SCHEIDT will raise the area of "concrete production for NZ compact stations" to a whole new level of quality. Of course, the old machines have remained loyal to SCHEIDT for many years, but are now unfortunately worn out and will therefore be replaced and brought up to the latest state of the art. And because technology is the most important ally of efficiency, SCHEIDT is focussing on improving production with clear logistical and price advantages as well as less transport costs with a certain dependence on individual suppliers.
New bending machine from Progress: robust, compact and powerful.
SCHEIDT in Hoyerswerda has already planned 750 of its own reinforcement cages for the compact stations for 2023, which corresponds to the production volume of 750 stations. All of this requires the right machines. Until now, SCHEIDT has not had a bending machine, but now the EBA 16 ARW bending machine from the Progress Group is at the start and impressively demonstrates how extremely high performance and accuracy can be achieved.
New mat cutting machine and new mat bending machine from Hambi.
Another plus point for the corresponding reinforcement cage production in Hoyerswerda will be the anticipated new TV60V mesh cutting machine. It will replace its long-standing, tried-and-tested predecessor and offers numerous new advantages and features. A second machine from the manufacturer will be used to process structural steel mesh: the new KSE mesh bending machine, a universal high-performance bending machine. Unlike its predecessor, it can also bend reinforcement mesh over a working width of 6 metres.
The first of three new machines for the in-house production of reinforcement cages is already in use at the Hoyerswerda plant: the modern Progress EBA 16 ARW bending machine.
The EBA 16 processes round steel on coils and bends stirrups or reinforcing bars fully automatically. The conversion will be completed with the new mesh cutting and bending machines from Hambi expected in April 2023.
